Atlantis Palace Hotel

A green oasis in the middle of nothing. The pool is great, the greenery is beautiful and well maintained. Rooms are cleaned daily with towel changes. Because everything is far away, the hotel’s restaurant is a huge advantage, offering a wide selection of tasty dishes at reasonable prices. I don’t recommend the beach; it’s rocky and getting into the water is very uncomfortable. This hotel suits people who like to spend time by the pool or are driving. Everything is far, there’s no promenade, the train station is distant, and the buses are a myth. I’ve never spent this much on transport/taxi on any trip. A definite improvement would be to replace the furniture with something more modern.

The location is very good, the facilities offered, the restaurant. The staff are friendly, responsive, and speak several languages. Free parking. The garden is enclosed. The sea is across the street. Unfortunately the building itself isn’t renovated; in our room one of the beds was broken, the bathroom ventilation made a loud whistling noise. The sound insulation was very poor. Our neighbors (large groups arriving the next day) were loud, and we heard everything that happened around them – loud conversations, night and early‑morning preparations for departure. The neighbor noise wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but better sound insulation would have helped. Otherwise, a wonderful place.

“Schönes, sauberes Hotel mit Blick auf Ätna in desolater Umgebung”

The reception was very friendly; I was upgraded to a room with a sea view. Breakfast was good. The surroundings are pretty run‑down.
