Staying up in the mountains turned out to be a real treat. Kebir and his family greeted me like old friends, and his wife's cooking was downright delicious. Their son Kamal was polite and actually walked me along a trail, taking his time to explain things. I'd definitely recommend this spot.

It felt like I was living with a local family, and their warm smiles made everything feel homey. The son speaks great English, and thanks to him I got a crash course in the Khinalug alphabet. I was told to file the 15‑day registration early, which saved me a lot of hassle, and the family even arranged a reasonably‑priced taxi for me. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a genuine local experience.

The spot is really beautiful; you get the sense of stepping back more than fifty years. The family is incredibly kind and generous, and their son Kamal, who speaks English, was especially helpful. No complaints at all.

The guesthouse didn't register my details with the migration service, so I ended up paying a hefty fine when leaving Azerbaijan. When I raised the issue, they offered weak excuses and never compensated me. On top of that, they tried to charge an excessive fee for a shared taxi out of Khinaliq. I wouldn't rely on them for any official paperwork.
