The camp sits in a prime spot, limited to 8 yurts so about 20‑25 people, and after a long drive through gravel desert the arrival into the fine‑sand evening feels magical; the team—especially manager Ruslan and Aziz—are extremely kind, creating a cozy atmosphere around the traditional dinner prep, the fire, and the singer‑musician. Tables are set, the dinner quality is fine, and the organization is flawless. In our 10‑day journey, this camp was the overnight stop between Bukhara and Samarkand; the team picked us up from the hotel and brought us back the next day to the following hotel. The moon, stars, and magic were unforgettable. The trips, however, require planning: a day’s drive from Bukhara leaves at 10:30 am and arrives at 17:00 pm, with a 30‑45 min lunch stop at Ruslan’s house and up to an hour visiting Nurata, plus a short day to go from the camp to SMK. The roads are very rough (gravel and potholes that shake you) and/or heavily congested, making it a long haul. About ten minutes stop at the shores of the artificial Aydar lake is pointless. The yurts are typical, spacious, single beds with night tables; mattresses are very firm. Cleanliness is fine, and the shared outdoor toilets and showers are clean.

Very authentic.

The location and the yurts are fine, but it was a letdown even though we knew that beforehand; it feels purely touristy and that’s a shame. The food isn’t amazing and the portions are small for 9 dollars.

The Yurt Camp was an amazing experience; the place itself is beautiful, the staff are friendly, and it isn’t overcrowded like some other camps.
