The hotel is in a very quiet area, the beach is pleasant, and shops and restaurants are close by. The room’s pool isn’t climate‑controlled, but it’s nice during hot weather.

The views are spectacular and the property is well maintained; linens and cleaning services are excellent, and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. The beachfront has spacious lounges and palapas, and every service and aspect is excellent. I loved the kitchenette and coffee maker, which let me cook simple meals and set up a bar with real dishes and glassware (there’s a small shop near the lobby for a few food items and spirits). The armoire is generous with wooden hangers, the bathrooms have plenty of counter space for meds and cosmetics, and the soaps are nice; there are tons of thick, fluffy towels. All in all, it’s worth the money. The only downside is the stairs—stairs and more stairs. Even with golf carts, the steep slopes to the beach are tough; they need more elevators. There is only one elevator for the two floors above the pools and beach, so anyone with even the slightest mobility issues should seriously consider this property. The restaurant was good, especially breakfast, but it could focus less on fancy presentation and offer more homey classics at dinner. Seafood and fish selections were disappointing. The location makes it hard to walk anywhere for meals or shopping, but cabs are quick and cheap.

I was totally disconnected over a long weekend; the staff were very kind; the pool and beach were nice; walking to downtown Zihuatanejo is easy; the room was very pretty; the bed was comfortable; the sea view was great; it was very clean; authentic; the building overall was warm and pretty.
