The Ortnerhof feels family‑like, the wonderful food is personally cooked by the chef, and you feel welcomed and at ease. Our apartment on the top floor of the castle was spacious, airy, yet cozy, with a large terrace. The riding farm completes the experience!

Such warmth and homely vibes are rare in a hotel. We really enjoyed our time at the Ortnerhof with Helga and Hans in every respect. Breakfast was always beautifully regional. Dinner was a daily delight. We’ll return.

Unfortunately, my stay here was a letdown - the breakfast selection was pretty limited, it took ages for them to restock, and we couldn't really use the amenities. Plus, the staff seemed kinda defensive when we brought it up.

I was really impressed with this hotel, it's a hidden gem that offers great value for the price. The food was delicious, the sauna was awesome, and it's right near tons of hiking trails, which was perfect for me. I felt like I got a lot for my money.

We loved every minute of our stay. The staff were kind and accommodating. The food was extremely delicious; our kids ate vegetables and salads they normally wouldn’t try and loved them all. Each day we looked forward to dinner and wondered what surprises would be served. We stayed 6 nights and felt we got a wonderful variety of food and local cuisine. The location is breathtaking. It requires a car, but it’s worth it to discover the many hidden gems in this part of Austria. We greatly appreciate the hospitality and hope to return. The only mistake was not realizing the payment method before checking in. Although our reservation was held with a credit card, payment was not allowed. We missed reading these details when booking. It would have helped if this was mentioned upon arrival, as payment was only made at departure. We met our obligation but had to contact our bank for assistance. We’ll be better prepared next time. :-)
