Quiet, the pool, and simplicity. Aside from water outages, a toilet that didn’t work, and very low water pressure, there was no water dispenser, and there was no staff at all.

Quiet spot and a spacious room with good air‑conditioning and a large bed. Our balcony was a bit dirty on arrival, with cigarette butts.

The accommodation is far enough from the city noise yet still a 10‑minute walk away. The place is clean, with a small kitchenette that lets you prepare cold lunches, and there’s an outdoor kitchen with burners for communal cooking. A nice little pool is a bonus, and the Wi‑Fi works well—important in Mexico where the network can be spotty. The downside is that no staff were on duty at the start of the evening, which meant that the guests who were there didn’t keep the peace after a certain hour. Also remember that the hotel charges an environmental tax for waste management and island cleanliness, which you pay in cash once you arrive.
