The room was clean and comfortable; the road outside was noisy during the day but quiet at night, and the real ale was great.

There were no major problems, the bar facilities were good, and the location suited us perfectly; the breakfast was good and we got everything we wanted, but the room was very warm—though it was exceptionally hot at the time and we could have used a fan—road noise came from the front of the pub, and the rooms were a bit dated, yet the location mattered more to us.

The room was clean, but the stairs were steep, forcing an early exit via a fire escape, which was not ideal, and there was no designated place to leave keys.
