The only redeeming feature was the hot tub. The property advertised stove‑top cooking, an oven, a microwave, or a barbecue, but none of those were available. The bedding felt old‑fashioned, and the towels and robes were far from luxurious. Even though the property was fenced, we could still be seen from the neighbors while in the hot tub. The information pack was outdated: the first recommended restaurant was permanently closed, and the second stopped serving food at 4 pm. There was no clothes storage unless you used the bedside tables, so we spent a lot of time moving suitcases around. I’ve stayed at many quirky places, and this one was very disappointing and overpriced. Other similar accommodations usually offer a continental breakfast. I can’t honestly recommend this to anyone.

We had a gorgeous stay at Shepard’s Hut—our pup loved it too! Milk and snacks were left for us, and a big thank you to Anne for handing us the house keys and our pup’s leash that we’d forgotten. We’ll definitely come back.

A snug little hut that had everything we needed for our anniversary weekend, perfect for the occasion. We brought our two dogs, and there was plenty of space for them to run, with the whole area enclosed so we didn’t have to worry. The hot tub was in the ideal spot to enjoy the fantastic view. The host was reachable for any questions and responded quickly.
