Hotel Beatus, Interlaken, lies 200 m from Lake Thun and near the Beatus Caves. Free Wi‑Fi, parking and bus tickets to Interlaken (4 km) are included. Individually furnished rooms accompany a games room with pool table, tabletop football and darts. Situated on the Way of St James, it is close to a ship landing stage, bus links to Thun, and hiking and swimming opportunities.

The lake views and free transport with good connections were nice. The bed and pillow were uncomfortable (especially if you stay more than one night). Breakfast was limited. The furniture was very old and the bathroom especially needed renovation.

The rooms were simply furnished but very clean, and one had a view of Lake Thun. On arrival we were a bit early, checked in quickly, and got our car parking card and tourist card right away, all hassle‑free. The housekeeper showed us the walking route to the Beatus Caves; we didn’t believe we wanted to walk that far—about 20 minutes—and the caves are a must‑see. Getting to Interlaken by bus was also fine. Breakfast was plentiful; if you want more, just ask. For dinner you had to go to Interlaken or the country house, which is highly recommended. We had nothing to criticize, except that Switzerland is generally more expensive than elsewhere.

The view was amazing. We had a room with a small balcony that when we woke up in the morning, it took our breath away. This property has character and what one would imagine it would have been like to travel years ago and I say that in a really positive way. It is like a time capsule. I liked everything about the property if if you are looking for a realistic experience of a facility where the husband and wife have been running it for 45+ years this is it. We had read a review that the location is right on a busy road. Well, of course it is because it’s right on the lake above but the view is brilliant. Yes, there are vehicles but a place has been here for over 100 years so when it was originally built that made sense
