The view and position are absolutely stunning, but a 1‑minute taxi up the hill costs 20 euro and you’ll need to pay that 2‑4 times a day if you want to get anywhere. The restaurants serve nice food but are very pricey—two people spent £190—and it feels like they’re trying to keep the “rif raf” out. The water taxi to Fira is £200 for a 25‑minute return ride for two people. Still, the place is classy and gorgeous at Ammoudi Bay; I just had to absorb the high costs. The accommodation itself was good with breathtaking views.
