The hotel was gorgeous, the location was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. A couple of days before arrival we got a message saying we could bid for a room upgrade, and we did and it was super easy to arrange. Nothing to fault, it’s a great hotel.

The place was clean and the staff were friendly. The only issue was that I was sick with my wife—she was coughing all night—and when we asked the reception if we could get a breakfast we’d paid for, they said no because you have to pre‑book. We were too unwell to go down, and I think they could have been a bit more understanding and compassionate about the situation.

The location was great and the bed was gorgeous and comfortable, with nice mood lighting. It felt under‑staffed; we waited a long time for someone to come and serve us at the downstairs bar and generally had to wait around for staff a lot.
