Everything was fine, except the key issue. I struggled to get in, had to change the key, and that night when I returned home I couldn’t get in again; my friends next door faced the same problem. Thankfully, they were there to help me get in.

The location offers a view, but the area has a high crime rate. The reception was far from welcoming; after booking a room for two nights, staff knocked on my door at 9 am the first morning. The room wasn’t serviced during my stay, garbage bins weren’t emptied, the shower mat was brown and mouldy, and the outside grounds were dirty and unkempt. I had stayed at this motel before and it was excellent, but it seems ownership has changed.

This tired property needs a major makeover; I’m not convinced the owners have the desire or ability to improve it. The property requires maintenance and a complete overhaul. The bath linen was grubby and stained, and I’m not sure if it was fresh. I used a travel towel instead of the supplied one. I feel this is probably an 80s build and largely stuck in that era.

Beds and pillows sooo comfortable. Excellent shower / water pressure. Suoer quiet. Great block out curtains. Kettle, toaster, microwave. The decor was dated, but we didn't care
