Ella Forest Paradise Hotel

“Good location, fine short stay.”

The first room’s door wouldn’t lock, so we moved rooms, which was an easy and efficient solution. We were given towels when we asked for them. It’s nice to have a pool, but it could be cleaner. The location was good. The orange juice on arrival was nice. Hot water was lacking for a shower. The room was dark. There were lots of flies present, although I understand this isn’t necessarily solvable. The card reader was dead at checkout, so I had to wait for it to charge before paying, a simple lack of preparation. There were no bedside tables.

The main street in Ella is noisy, but the hotel is close by and does not suffer from that noise. It’s calm and comfortable. The billiard table was a pleasant surprise.

“Rustig en toch centraal.”

Quiet and a bit higher up, yet still within walking distance of the center. The rooms were nice, the garden beautiful. The pool was spacious. The breakfast was good.

Friendly people. The pool water quality was poor. The bathroom was not up to standard.

“Nothing like the photos, this place needs is a little tired. Needs a refresh. Some furniture would be good.”

It was close to everything, though you had to walk up a fairly high hill. Having a pool was good. Breakfast was okay. The place needs an update. The room was tiny and very hot, with only a fan instead of air‑con. The bathroom was old and sometimes ran out of hot water. There was no furniture to hold toiletries or clothes, making it feel more like a hostel than a hotel. Mosquitoes were plentiful, so bring spray.
