“Disappointed by the room, the pictures were deceiving.”
There’s a bar outside the window and the apartment is on the ground floor. We had to keep the blinds closed all day for privacy from the bar. The location is good, but the air conditioner leaked and was loud outside until 1 am. It’s nice to have a fridge and iron in the room, but there’s nowhere to hang clothes. The shower was very small for someone over 5 ft 7 in. A major issue was the lack of hand towels and a shower mat; we only had two towels for the whole stay. Only one pillow per person, and the bed was two singles pushed together. The kitchen was good, with plenty of pots, pans, and cutlery. They should add a larger mirror in the room; the only bathroom mirror is tiny, which can be tricky if you’re staying with someone else.
The spot was spot on for us, just outside the main shopping area yet still close to nice shops and supermarkets. We had hoped to use the kitchen, but it was too dirty to bother with, and the bathroom wasn’t clean either; the shower was tiny and short.
“It was great”
The location was perfect, exactly what you’d want in the heart of Venice. The host kept in touch all the time, and even when our train got delayed by two hours they were fine. Check‑in and check‑out ran smoothly. It felt a little dated, but that added to its charm.
The entrance was shabby and the bathtub was crusted over.
“Mal”
The place was well situated, but everything was a mess—dirty, hot, and the windows were arranged poorly, so the bar at street level was always closed and you’d have to stay dark all day. The bed and pillows were terribly uncomfortable, the kitchen tools were disgusting so we ate out instead, and the bathtub fell apart into pieces.
