The building’s old‑world charm and the beautiful timber framing really set the mood, and the train to Bilbao runs right outside the door. Unfortunately, the Wi‑Fi in the room we stayed in was practically unusable, which feels like a poor value for the price. I wasn’t thrilled with breakfast either – the toast was half‑dried and the coffee was mediocre; it should cost around €16 to match the quality.

The hotel’s location opposite the train station with its own parking lot is great. The room under the slanted roof was spacious and the bathroom had clearly been renovated. Even with two fans, it was very hot. The breakfast area was lovely and well maintained.

The hotel looked nice, but the rooms on the top floor were unbearably hot because there was no air conditioning.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and even with four kids in tow we received a warm welcome. The breakfast and lunch we had at the hotel were probably the best we ate during our holiday. The location was convenient for the train into Bilbao and the off‑street parking was safe. It was a lovely way to finish our holiday before heading to the ferry the next day.
