“Beautiful in the photos, but unfortunately the reality fell well short of expectations.”
The staff were friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, our stay was quite disappointing, especially considering the price and how beautiful the property looked in the photos. Our room felt poorly maintained and possibly one of the worst on the property. The bedroom had a very large bed but no wardrobe or proper place to hang clothes. A shelf appeared to have been broken off the wall, leaving very little storage. The sheets had holes, the room smelled mouldy, and the overall cleanliness of the property was below the standard we expected. The fire pit in our villa didn't work, while others appeared to. More concerning was how the fire was lit, with substances being burned that shouldn't have been, including a plastic water bottle, which we immediately asked them to remove. Breakfast was okay but nothing special, and the restaurant was also quite dirty, with unclean tables and floors. We understand flies are part of Kintamani and aren't complaining about that — our concern was the general lack of cleanliness, particularly as the property wasn't busy. The staff were attentive and tried to help, but communication was sometimes difficult. Overall, we were disappointed. The property has potential and a beautiful setting, but the cleanliness and maintenance need significant improvement. For the price, we expected much more and unfortunately wouldn't return in its current condition
