The accommodation was as basic as any backpacker spot, which was fine because I just needed a place to stay before a parkrun; it’s 2.7 km away and only 2 km from the main town for groceries, take‑aways and fuel. A kettle would have been nice for a warm drink.

Brian, the owner, is very humble and helpful. The location is convenient, within walking distance to town and hiking trails, and the setting is peaceful and quiet with a great view for nature lovers. Thanks, Brian.

The pool was a highlight; otherwise, nothing else stood out.

There was nothing really positive. The photos showed a private bathroom in the hut we booked, but we were told there is only one shared bathroom. Privacy was practically nonexistent when using the restroom. The hut looked clean but smelled terrible inside, and we couldn’t stand the odor, so we left. Even if it’s for backpackers, basic cleanliness should still be a priority.

The service was very poor: staff were rude and unhelpful, rooms had a strange odor, insects were present, the pool was dirty, and the whole facility looked filthy—nothing like the pictures.
