The building is lovely and sits right on the main street of Pitlochry. The hosts were friendly and eager to recommend both traditional and other local eateries. The room was well organized, and the breakfast was plentiful when booked in advance.

Great location, wonderful guest house, amazing breakfast, and Nancy went above and beyond to make our stay so pleasurable.

The Poplars Guest House is a neat, well‑maintained, and very clean place; Nancy, the owner, is charming and kind. There is a parking spot in front of the house, from which the town and local spots are about a 10‑minute walk. In the tidy, orderly lounge, guests could also sample a whisky. Breakfast was okay. We were assigned a twin‑bed room that, compared to other accommodations, felt quite small. The window could only be tipped a sliver and not fully opened; we were told this was for insurance reasons. The bathroom was really tiny and cramped, with a minuscule sink. The shower could only be set to “good warm” or hot; a cold shower was impossible. The breakfast selection, which had to be chosen the night before, was oddly limited compared to other places: you could only combine two items.
The location is ideal for the city—quiet yet very close to shops and restaurants. Breakfast is perfect, fresh, and of high quality. The Scottish breakfast is excellent. The atmosphere and cleanliness throughout are really good. A perfect parking spot right next to the house. The owner is a very friendly and helpful person, and it was a great stay.
