The older, traditional hotel feels a bit dated but is clean and tidy. Breakfast is a little limited but acceptable. Given the location and the prices of other hotels, this is fine. The only drawback was having to share a bathroom and toilet with five other rooms.

The location is good, with plenty of free parking right in front of the hotel. It’s a small, family‑friendly place with a restaurant downstairs; the fondue was good but cost 44 CHF. The shared bathroom consists of one room with a shower and bathtub, a men’s toilet and a women’s toilet, but the space is small so we didn’t have any trouble using both. The floor creaks because it’s all wood, and the soundproofing isn’t great, but we managed the night we had booked. The included breakfast is decent.

The hotel sits right in the middle of iconic passes and the Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald valleys, everything within reach. We spent a few days there, heading out in the morning for hikes and coming back in the evening, happy to have it so close. It’s perfect if all you need is a good bed and breakfast. The parking is a delight, just down the road under the windows, and everything was really clean. On the downside, the accommodation is in a wooden addition to an older building; the squeaky floor tells you every move in the adjacent room, even shaking your own bed. If you have noisy neighbors, don’t expect peace. The walls are too thin. That’s due to the construction, but the creaky door handle and the non‑functional shower bracket could be fixed. For breakfast, a bit of fresh vegetables would be appreciated.

The location is great, and the breakfast is fairly complete and relatively affordable for Switzerland. However, the value for money feels off, the rooms look like they’re from the 1970s with creaky floors, shared showers and toilets, and the reception was a bit cold. There’s no restaurant, and the 4 CHF per person tourist tax is an extra hit.
