Matterhorn Inn

The view of the mountains, the size of the room, and the very spacious bathroom were positives. The layout split the beautiful mountain view in half (a problem only with our room). The area was very busy. The Mexican restaurant was practically outside the window and emitted a strong meat odor. The air conditioning was VERY noisy. We couldn’t relax because of the above factors.

I found the room a bit quirky but still fairly tidy, with decent beds and facilities. The ice machine next to us made a demon‑like growl every hour. The spot is great, and I’d stay again. The location is exactly where it is… which is A1.

The room was roomy and updated to solid standards, and the bathroom was spacious for a property of its age. The place is walkable and the location is superb. I had no complaints; I knew exactly what I was getting.

“The house was adequate for the five of us so we ended up having a good stay in Sedona.”

We didn’t actually stay in the hotel itself, just checked in and out, so we can’t comment on the main building. We did use the hotel’s pool and it was fantastic! The laundry room in the house was fine, and the TV and seating were acceptable. The spot was very good. However, we stayed in the Chalet, which is connected but separate. The house had deferred maintenance: the deck was a mess with peeling paint and rotten boards, and there weren’t enough spots to eat except outside on the deck, which was too hot to use that table.

The place was comfortable and fairly clean, yet it felt more like a motel than a four‑star hotel, so it didn’t live up to that rating at all.
