Staying inside the temple complex gives you the chance to try calligraphy, a monk bar, and waterfall training if you ask. My family’s first waterfall training was a hit; the monk was gentle and kind, and even the elementary‑school kids finished it together, making it the best experience. I’d definitely go back. The only downside is the washer and dryer are outside, so mosquitoes were a nightmare in the summer.

“静寂の時を過ごしたい人には最適。”

宿坊に泊まるのは善光寺に続いての２度目。以前は大部屋に雑魚寝で、暗くてお線香くさく、あまりいいイメージはなかった。だが、今回はリニューアルして３年目の部屋。４人部屋に一人きりというか、離れを貸し切り状態。まさに静寂の部屋であった。TVやラジオがない隔絶された世界に入る。たまにはこういうのもいい。（無料Wifiはある）朝に散歩をするとご住職の朝のお務めが始まるところだった。幽玄の世界を感じる。海の近くで、天気がよければ最高の景色だったと思う。. 宿坊だからいた仕方ないのだが、食事がない。一度チェックインしてから食事にでようかと思ったが、事前に調べると周辺に店が少ない。ましてや外はゲリラ豪雨があるなど、荒れ模様。そこで途中のコンビニで夕飯を調達してきた。（近くにはない）宿坊にはキッチンがあり、材料さえあれば料理ができる。レンジとポットを使わせてもらった。ひとつ気になったのは、ご住職が「茶碗をあらったらふいて元にもどしておいてください」と言ったことである。私は湯飲みを２つ使ったのだが、洗って流し場に伏せるだけにした。元にもどすのは何か不衛生な気がしたからである。

The location is great, the place is clean, there are toys for kids and adults can enjoy too, so we spent a wonderful family holiday together 😊
