The host was pleasant and gave us plenty of tips about local events, turning a place we’d only passed through into a spot we’d love to return to, and I can’t think of any downside.

I stayed here for a bit and it was pretty decent for the area - the location was super convenient for exploring the Oboke and Iya valleys by bus and train. The room was really quiet and spacious, and we slept on futons, which was a nice change of pace. The bathroom and toilet were shared, but that wasn't a big deal for us. It wasn't fancy, but it was a good value for the price.
