The location is excellent, and from the room window you can see beautiful scenery; the place is overall clean and bright.

The spot is great, but it’s inconvenient for non‑drivers since it sits on a hill and walking to town takes about half an hour; having a car makes it easy, and the surrounding scenery is lovely. The bathroom and toilet are shared downstairs, which was uncomfortable for me because I’m a night‑time user and worried about waking the downstairs hosts and other guests; I paid for a room but felt more like a guest, which was awkward.

The house was spotless and well maintained, and Ken and Mary were very friendly. We chatted in English and some broken Japanese. The setting is beautiful and tranquil, and a two‑minute drive takes you to a supermarket and a convenience store, which worked for us because we had a car; not sure how it feels for those who don’t drive. There’s a “curfew” to observe, but we were fine with it. The place offers serenity, so it’s only right to protect it for others. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.
