Staying in a beach hut on a remote beach was really nice—you could hear roosters, geckos, and the ocean in the morning, and we caught a few lovely sunrises. The hut was all ours with a nice porch area, and the owner kept his promise by refunding two of the three nights after we found bed bugs. However, bed bugs and visible pellets were on the bed when we first arrived, and we didn’t notice them until the second morning, feeling disgusted that the owner let the room be rented in that condition. We arrived late on the first and second nights, so we were too tired to complain about what we thought were gecko or mouse droppings. The bathroom also had pellets and didn’t look cleaned; the mosquito net had holes. The owner wasn’t very compassionate about the bed bug bites and the need to clean all our belongings. To top it off, the location is an hour from El Nido by scooter, and the quickest route is a bumpy gravel track that’s hard to navigate unless you’re a confident driver. Our bike rental shop was wary about renting to us, knowing we’d have trouble reaching the hotel. The Wi‑Fi is rubbish and is just stolen from the hotel down the beach; there’s no service. The staff were not very friendly or approachable.

The accommodation is simple but a truly quiet oasis; the bungalows have everything you need. If you expect a four‑star hotel, you’re at the wrong address. The location is great—quiet and very relaxing. The only thing that slightly bothered me was that the bungalows were a bit noisy.
