The room was basic but clean and comfy, with a small fridge but no kettle. The buffet breakfast offered plenty of cold meats, fruit, breads, cakes, cereals, yoghurts, and eggs cooked to order. Beach towels were available at reception, and the nearest beach is a 20‑minute walk away. We mostly used Uber to get around, but it was only a 40‑minute walk along the lakeside to the main town, where there were plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. Jens was super helpful – I’d left my Kindle at the previous hotel and he arranged for it to be sent to our hotel in Rio for me to pick up.
