I didn't expect much from a single‑night business trip, yet the hotel’s architecture and interior design blew me away—simple, comfortable, and functional, especially in the rooms, corridor, and all‑day dining; even the City Hotel’s ambiance feels resort‑style and far from boring, and the lobby could use more intrigue—thanks Santika Bangka for a successful one‑night stay.

“Fijn”

The hotel was well kept and beautiful, the breakfast was fantastic and extensive, and the beds were wonderful. I expected more help with the luggage.

The bathroom in the room was large. There was nothing else.

“Need improvement”

The location is pretty convenient, and breakfast was a highlight - plus, having mineral water in the room was a nice touch. However, I was a bit disappointed with the cleanliness - there was dust on the bathroom door grill, a spiderweb in the lamp cap, and the outside window panes were really dirty and looked old. You can even see the grime from inside the room, which was a bit frustrating. Overall, it's a good base, but could use some improvement on the cleanliness front.

The staff here are really friendly and go out of their way to help. The bed and pillows were comfy too, which was a relief after a long day. That being said, the building could do with a bit of maintenance - it's not a major issue, but it's noticeable. Still, the positives won out for me, and I'd stay here again.
