“Quirky but comfy”
The location by the river is stunning—both a blessing and a pain. The host provided everything you need. The bed was comfortable, and the Wi‑Fi was good. The weir on the river was very loud; I had to sleep with the patio doors open because it was so noisy that I could hear my alarm, and the floor vibrated a bit from the weir. Some TV instructions would have helped. The quirky toilet required flushing every minute during a shower so it didn’t flood. There’s barely enough space to reach the bathroom sink—you’d have to be a contortionist. It’s not the host’s fault, but the pub across the river is closed, so there aren’t many nearby eating options unless you’re willing to walk 30 minutes into Ponty or drive. It’s best for a solo traveller.
