“Comfy spot in the middle of Pompei”
The spot’s spotty, just a quick stroll to the ruins, close to the piazza, and surrounded by tasty food and drinks. The room was spacious and spotless.

The location was great, just a short walk from the site. The rooms were spacious. The host was very attentive and responsive. The view from the main pedestrian street was a bit noisy. There was no kitchen available.

The place was decent, and the quirky elevator actually worked, which mattered because it’s on the 4th floor. The photos promised a full kitchen and a 3‑bedroom, 3‑bathroom apartment, but when we arrived a big “miscommunication” hit us: the person who was supposed to meet us was in the hospital, so we had to grab keys from the bar downstairs and were handed just one set. We went up to find not a kitchen‑filled apartment but a split‑up hostel‑style space with a desk where the living room should be; the kitchen had several tables, no sink, no dishes, no fridge, and each bedroom was locked off. I had to call the hospital contact for another key set, which only gave us two rooms instead of the advertised three. Each room had tiny refrigerators that were plugged in and on but not cold, which was a problem because I was traveling with medication that needed refrigeration. About 15 minutes into staying in what we thought were our exclusive rooms, another couple unlocked the front door and entered the third locked bedroom. Fortunately we weren’t in our pajamas or anything less than “our” apartment. The staff apologized and promised fixes the next morning. We received a nice basket of food as compensation, and the next night we finally had three rooms, but still no working kitchen. The advertised free breakfast turned out to be just cookies, prepackaged toast, jam, a coffee maker, and a teapot with tea.

We booked Pompeii B&B for the stunning breakfast views of the city/Vesuvius and the advertised wellness spa. Our accommodation was changed before we travelled. We communicated via WhatsApp, which was odd because it had a translate option. Major maintenance meant we were hosted in a basement apartment with a painted brick wall view. Andrea said we could have breakfast at the original B&B, but then told us to go to a café he arranged where we could get coffee or juice and a pastry. The lady was lovely but the breakfast didn’t match what we expected. On arrival to Pompeii, the 25‑minute walk from the station took 1 hour 43 minutes because directions were given one bit at a time, so we had to stop, get signal, send a picture, and wait for the next instruction. I appreciate Andrea was trying to help, but when you’ve never been somewhere before you don’t know what you’re looking for. For example, the “easiest train” we didn’t know what that was. Anyway, Andrea said he was in the hospital, so I appreciate his time. No tea/coffee facility as in the B&B, only a kettle, so we’d have to buy tea, coffee, milk, etc. Disappointed with the whole saga as it wasn’t what we had taken the time to choose and book, but grateful we had somewhere to sleep and wash. We had to leave €30 cash for city tax on the table with the keys on checkout. I never met the staff, only a lady who handed us the keys and phoned Andrea for me, but he needed contact via WhatsApp. The B&B sounds nice and has great reviews. This property was okay for those wanting a whole apartment. The cafés and restaurants in the local area were all lovely and reasonably priced. Tip: Pompeii Scavi station is a 25‑minute walk from the apartment, but the nearest station is Pompeii Santuario and a 5‑minute walk from the property. It’s on the green line, so from Naples you need the end destination to read Poggiomarino, NOT platform 1; it will be 3 or 4. This line is not as busy. The sofa was uncomfortable to sit on. No view from the windows as it was a basement apartment.

Perfect location, 6 minutes from the train station and the entrance to Pompeii. Spacious, clean room in a property with all the infrastructure needed, including an umbrella when it rained one morning. Good communication with the owner via WhatsApp ensured the location and keys to my room were there on arrival. Not as noisy from the street below as anticipated from previous reviews; in fact the room itself was surrounded in silence, which ensured good sleep. Excellent value for money and most importantly an elderly gentleman on his own felt very safe.
