Relax Hotel Pelikán

They advertised wellness services and a 4‑star restaurant, but on arrival we were told the wellness was broken and the gentleman didn’t know why. We booked a triple room because it was the last one available, yet they gave us a small double instead. The restaurant offered only two dishes. The staff were a Ukrainian family who knew nothing. Breakfast, an extra 180 Kč per person, was insane. We were really disappointed.

A nice quiet spot a short walk from the river, and the city wasn’t far either. The fridge in the room contained forgotten food from previous guests. The children’s playground had many damaged, dangerous toys. The receptionist was not very upbeat and didn’t try hard to help with the services we asked about. Still, we were overall satisfied; we only stayed one night.

I read the reviews after booking. We were there for just one night. We arrived early and wanted to book a wellness session for the evening, as the hotel advertised. No one was at the front desk, and the waitress in the restaurant knew little, directing us to a phone hanging at the entrance. We tried calling it in vain. Later they sent an SMS, but no one answered us. In the late afternoon we came to check in, but again no one was at the desk. We went to the restaurant, where another waitress, who also worked at the front desk, was there. Several guests had mentioned in reviews that they had no reservation from booking… eventually someone assigned us a room. We asked about a few things, but she repeatedly said she didn’t understand us; she was a foreigner. We tried to lock our bikes, but the cards didn’t work, and a man—another foreigner—couldn’t open the lock. The room looked like no one had changed the linens and someone had slept in the bed; the bathroom had a full trash bin, a hanging towel, and only one folded towel on the bed instead of two. Later we discovered we had the cards for a room occupied by someone else. We moved to the correct room. At first glance it seemed clean, but the tiles in the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, I’m sure of it. We visited the private whirlpool, an infrared sauna in poorly ventilated basement spaces… it could not have passed hygiene. For dinner we went elsewhere just in case. In the morning we found out that we were staying at this 4‑star hotel without breakfast. In the restaurant, a man immediately declared that he didn’t understand us at all, vanished, and we had no chance to order coffee, tea, or breakfast for payment. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Booking should pull this property off the market! It definitely does not match a 4‑star establishment.

The setting was beautiful and the hotel itself was pretty.

“Poměr cena/výkon (ubytování) asi v pořádku.”

The location is decent for someone unfamiliar, about a 10‑minute walk from the city. The restaurant was already closed on Saturday evening, the room was small, and the hot water took five minutes to start.
