The location was good. Nothing else.

The location was okay and the front desk staff were relatively friendly, though not very efficient, which didn't make up for anything. It was terrible from the start; upon arrival a nauseating sewer smell filled the room, making us want to vomit. The reception offered no solution or room change, only told us to open windows and that the cleaning crew would deal with it the next morning. We had to buy a deodorizer ourselves to cope with the foul odor, which seemed to come from the external air conditioning, not the drains. We were also told we were smelling things that didn't exist. Sleeping with the feeling of needing a gas mask was unacceptable. No commercial gesture was offered; we were even charged a 10 € late check‑out fee for the extra hour. Finally, the “pool” was a bleach‑water foot bath. The most accurate term would be a culture broth basin, enough to make you nauseated just by looking at it.

The beds were good. The fact that they were separate buildings was a drawback.

1.) I could communicate perfectly in English with the receptionists. 2.) The receptionists were very helpful. 3.) The hotel was in a very good location. 4.) The room was very spacious. 5.) I especially liked that there was no key or key‑card, just a code to enter everything. 1.) Among the non‑front‑desk staff, only one (!) spoke English; all the others could not be communicated with because they only spoke Spanish. 2.) I checked the television’s forty‑plus channels: only Spanish‑language channels were available. No BBC, CNN, or SAT7, and no educational or entertainment channels such as Spektrum, NatGeo, BBC Entertainment, etc. Nothing at all, which is quite odd for a hotel that hosts guests from all over the world. 3.) The cleaning was quite erratic: sometimes everything was cleaned thoroughly; sometimes only the bathroom; sometimes only the trash was taken out and nothing else happened; sometimes the used toilet paper was forgotten and had to be reported at reception; sometimes the used towels were taken away but no clean ones were left, again needing a complaint at reception. 4.) The breakfast selection was narrow, and every day it was exactly the same, with no variety. Only a white baguette was offered as bread. No half‑brown or whole‑meal bread, and no toast.
