“Good but little expensive for what it is”

We booked Hide Ella for our honeymoon trip around Sri Lanka, and it definitely made a strong first impression. The hotel sits high on a hilltop within walking distance of Ella town, offering a fantastic spot and spectacular views, with Ella Rock right across from the property. The resort is fairly small, with only a handful of rooms spread over a couple of floors. The highlight of Hide Ella is the stunning outlook over the gorge and towards Ella Rock. The restaurant on the top floor takes full advantage of the setting, providing magnificent views for dining. Breakfast offered a good range of options and a decent selection of drinks. One small downside, however, was the number of trapped and dead bugs around the restaurant area. It seemed like there was no easy way for them to get out, and the area could have been cleaned more thoroughly. The swimming pool is quite small and there are only a limited number of lounge beds, so finding a spot by the pool can be difficult, especially when the hotel is busy. It’s a nice space to take in the views, but it feels somewhat limited. Our room was a decent size and came with a balcony, which was a nice addition. The bathroom was adequate, although fairly small, with a compact shower. Unfortunately, there was also a leak in the bathroom, which we reported to the hotel upon checkout. Hopefully, this has since been resolved. Overall, Hide Ella is a beautiful property in a fantastic location, and the views are undoubtedly its biggest strength. That said, we felt it was rather expensive for what it offers and didn’t quite live up to the upmarket experience it presents itself as. The steep hill leading up to the property can also be a challenge at times; even our driver struggled to get up to drop us off. Nevertheless, for a short stay in Ella, especially if spectacular views and a convenient location are priorities, Hide Ella is still worth considering.

“מלון אינטימי ושקט, לקחת בחשבון שיש עלייה תלולה ברגל”

The location of the hotel is pretty good and the view is amazing, there aren’t many rooms which gives an intimate vibe. The whole area is very quiet compared to the main street. The staff were lovely and took care of every request we had. Even though the location is good, getting to the hotel requires a steep climb of about ten minutes on foot, so we used a tuk‑tuk. The rooms are a bit small and need maintenance.

“Estancia con unas vistas increíbles”

It’s a hotel set in a wonderful environment, with spectacular views. Every receptionist’s service was wonderful and the breakfast buffet was a marvel surrounded by those views. Everything was great.

Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal. Es gab ein sehr reichhaltiges Frühstück. Ausblick und Ausstattung bestens und sehr schöner Infinity Pool
