The location is excellent. Cleanliness is top‑level. The toilets and showers are spacious, hot water is available, there are tables with chairs, a hair dryer, a kitchen, and the air‑conditioners work hard. The price listed in the ad is one thing, but the final cost is different, so you can’t know the exact rate until you pay – a very bad practice.

I booked six days because of the high rating, but it was a mistake. The good stuff: toilet paper and soap are always in the bathrooms, hot water for coffee and the fridge is available, laundry is cheap, the bed and mattress were comfortable, the owner is friendly, and it’s close to the center. The bad stuff: 1. The AC in the room shuts off from 9:30 am to 1 pm, so if you’re still sleeping it’s suffocating. 2. Room 5 has no ventilation at all, so after a long sweaty day it smells awful. 3. The other beds are in a large room (mix‑and‑mesh and barred) with more than 15 people; I had to use the bathroom in the afternoon and it was nauseating. 4. The interior lounge has the only decent fan, but the sofa is in terrible condition and the cleaning crew uses it in the mornings, so you can’t stay there (they’re also hot). 5. The common area has four fans, only one works and the air doesn’t go where it should, so it feels like you’re steaming. 6. The two cleaning ladies usually look annoyed or angry, so you don’t want to ask them anything. 7. The kitchen could be cleaner; it’s not dirty, but everything seems washed only with water, there are no cutlery, and the cutlery drawer could be cleaned (it is dirty). Finally, these are the basic conditions for a cheap hostel in a tropical climate.
