The Holiday Inn Northampton, set by the riverside, offers free parking, a brasserie, bar, and mini-gym. Comfortable rooms feature baths, showers, tea/coffee making facilities, and work desks. Breakfast is served daily from 06:30-10:00. Located 2 miles from Northampton centre and 5 miles from the M1 motorway, it's close to business parks, Woburn Safari Park, and Silverstone. Children under 12 stay and eat free.

The location was great; as big Northampton stadium fans, the hotel is about a 5‑minute drive from the stadium. The only downside was the beds, which were not as comfortable as I’d hoped.

I booked at the last minute during a very busy early‑August period and slept very comfortably that night. There was nothing to dislike.

All the staff seemed happy to be working there; the bar staff we chatted with were brilliant, the reception staff were very helpful, and the cleaning staff were always cheerful. The food was really good, a decent price, and breakfast was one of the best hotel buffet experiences I’ve had. On the downside, the wine was pricey, the TV was unusable and needed instructions, and the bed was too soft for me (my partner slept fairly well). We brought a dog, which was allowed for £10 a night extra, but there was no dog basket or blanket, no bowls or treats, and no dog-friendly bedding. Walking the dog was okay, but the hotel site had areas where a fence or gate could let dogs run free.
