Sala Baï Hotel & Restaurant School

Thank you for the wonderful stay at Salam Bai Hotel. We really enjoyed everything! The hotel is tastefully furnished and located in a lovely garden just outside the city centre. Breakfast is very good and varied, offering Asian, Continental, and cereal options. The service staff are very attentive and friendly. Because we wanted to leave early to go to Angkor Wat, we received a lunchbox. We were able to have our laundry done on site. Everything worked out perfectly. It’s a hotel school run by a French NGO, where young people receive a one‑year training in the hotel sector. It’s impressive to see what the young men and women learn in such a short time (reception, room service, spa, cooking, and of course English). We could attend the flag ceremony in the morning and tour the hotel school, getting a glimpse behind the scenes.

“Fantastique”

Super establishment developed by an NGO to help young people escape poverty by offering them a year of courses and training in the hospitality and catering industry. The concept is great; all the students and teachers are very caring, the rooms are spacious and bright. The restaurant is very good. Nothing to complain about except that the restaurant is only open at noon, but it is planned to open in the evening in a few months.

“Établissement parfait pour un séjour à SiemReap”

The whole staff and the students were friendly, always ready to help and paid close attention to us, and the hotel sits far from mass tourism yet only a three‑minute tuk‑tuk ride from the centre, making it both quiet and easy to reach downtown; we enjoyed the breakfasts and felt good supporting the school by staying four nights. There’s nothing to complain about, though it would be nice to have a relaxing spot for a drink after a day of sightseeing—a bench in the greenery or even a small pool—and perhaps a simple dinner option on site so we wouldn’t need to go into town.

“Super”

The staff, who are apprentices, were attentive, very friendly, and the environment was pleasant and quiet. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Nothing else.
