This place is a peaceful haven just a short walk from downtown Te Anau, surrounded by a lovely garden. The hosts are kind, the breakfast is tasty, and everything is well maintained – truly a one‑star‑recommender.

The house is pretty and set in a pastoral area full of sheep, which is very nice. The room is comfortable, spotless, and the host prepares a good breakfast. However, the house feels extremely isolated, a detail that should be clarified; it’s also pricey. I was shocked to find a heavy door that lowers at night to block guests from accessing the lounge and kitchen – something I’ve never seen before. If you’re wary of the people you meet, this isn’t a B&B, and it’s not very convenient for us to use a machine before leaving.

Jeff and Jan were incredibly welcoming, and the room and house were clean, tidy, spacious, fresh, with a super comfy bed. The gardens were beautiful, and the breakfast was delicious. We had a lovely stay. Thank you so much!

The accommodation is beautifully situated just a few minutes outside Te Anau and is lovingly maintained by the owners. Jan and Jeff take a very personal interest in their guests.
