The owner was friendly. The shower surprisingly had adequate hot water and a reasonable head, and the loo was clean—just what you'd expect. However, the room had no windows, the single bed was a very old pine thing and the bedding was worn, so I worried about getting under the duvet and ended up folding it in half to sleep. The pillows were old, thin, and threadbare. The duvet was in its cover but not clipped. The TV didn’t work (not a major issue for me), but it was old, small, and only terrestrial. The room was filthy, dusty, old, worn out with redundant fittings, etc. I sensed it might have been an old former stable. Two persistent flies were a distraction. The walls, ceiling, and other parts were so old and “knocked up” that I didn’t want to look closer. Power was very poorly provided, with trailing cables, old adapters, dusty, dirty, tangled. There were tea bags, sugar, and a kettle (scaled), but the drink glass was dirty. To be honest, I was really pleased to be out of there.
