“Nous espérions mieux.”

The site is pretty, secluded and far from everything, and the accommodation mainly serves sailors from Nordfjord. After a long drive, the welcome wasn’t very warm; we felt like we were intruding. Note that the reviews and photos match different accommodations: our small three‑bedroom apartment was cramped, lacked charm, and had no view. It might work as a stopover, but the shower without a basin next to the toilet and the lack of fitted sheets (we slept on an irritating flat sheet) left a sour impression, and the distance from any shop made the absence of breakfast offerings regrettable.

I was greeted by a super friendly host who gave us a tour and explained the place. We stayed in a beautiful apartment that let us fish—or swim for those who enjoy that—right out of the “lasteluka.” Plenty of space, a well-equipped kitchen, clean and lovely. The surroundings are idyllic and exotic for two simple souls from Østlandet!

The accommodation was spacious and well-equipped. The location was remote and a vehicle was essential. The stay was somewhat ruined by a strong, pervasive odor from an old oil tank (probably diesel) located on the ground floor below the lodging. The patio above the boiler overlooking the balcony was unusable, which is a shame because it spoils the riverside spot. The smell inside the room itself was very mild.
