The location, respect for the restoration, and the incredibly friendly, helpful staff made us feel very welcome; nothing to complain about – it was great.

Hidden in a narrow alley of the old town, this hotel is a secret oasis worth finding; the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, and the whole property was lovingly maintained. We stayed for three nights and appreciated the free pick‑up and drop‑off service. The on‑site vegetable garden added to the charm, making the stay even more enjoyable. The building is old and will be renovated soon, so I look forward to a refreshed version of the Bivou.

The property sits right in Shuhe Old Town, so exploring the nearby shops and streets is effortless; the owner was extremely welcoming and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived, and the service remained excellent throughout our stay, with warm and attentive hospitality.

We booked a Deluxe Garden Yard room and it was great – modern, roomy, high ceilings. The staff were super helpful, spoke English, and made everything run smoothly. The spot in Shuhe, just outside Lijiang, was a nice break from the city and the little vegetable garden let us see some greenery. The Wi‑Fi in the room was a bit spotty, though.
