The hotel was solid and the staff were lovely, and staying open late was great for the pokies; the room matched its price, being a decent size, clean, and tidy, with an old bathroom that matched what I paid for, offering good value. It’s just 5 minutes from Charlestown main St, 10 minutes to Redhead beach, 10 minutes to the lake, and 20 minutes to Newcastle main St. The bathroom could use a facelift and the TV was half hanging off the bracket, but otherwise the stay was pleasant.

The staff were excellent and housekeeping standards were high, but the TV frequently caused trouble trying to access free-to-air channels.
