Mont-Tremblant splits into two separate worlds ten kilometres apart. The resort village at the mountain base provides walkable ski access and slope-side dining at steep prices. Downtown Saint-Jovite handles actual local business, offering lower prices for meals and gear. Moving between them requires a car or the local bus line.

Dining choices depend on location. The Pedestrian Village features high-volume burger joints and upscale steakhouses designed for quick turnarounds. Downtown Saint-Jovite hosts the region's best independent restaurants. Rue de Saint-Jovite delivers honest bistro fare and local craft beer at lower prices.

Mont-Tremblant is spread out over 230 square kilometres. Inside the resort village, feet replace cars completely. Connecting the resort to Saint-Jovite requires a personal vehicle or the municipal bus service.

• The open-air Cabriolet gondola carries pedestrians across the resort village for free. It runs continuously during ski operations.

• Quebec law mandates winter tires on all passenger vehicles from December 1 through March 15.

• Day parking at resort Lot P13 is free. Shuttle buses carry skiers directly from Lot P13 to the gondola.

Prices jump dramatically inside the resort zone. Buying groceries in Saint-Jovite cuts food spending in half compared to resort markets.
