Gerda greeted me warmly, the cottage had every comfort for an overnight stay, and the quiet of the Voorbaat Valley made the whole experience lovely; nothing was out of line with what I expected.

We adored everything—everything! The spot was gorgeous, with a farm vibe, lovely scenery, and birdsong. The dog Jock stole our hearts; he was so well-behaved. We’d love to come back; two nights felt too short. No Wi‑Fi or cell reception at the cottage—exactly what we wanted!

We stayed in the Lavender Cottage, a charming self‑catering spot that had everything we needed. The farm looked stunning, the dogs were a treat and ready for walks, and the Karoo’s peace was refreshing. The night sky was full of stars, and the cottage was cozy with plenty of warm bedding for winter nights.

The Country Garden had plenty to love. The accommodation offered everything you’d need, with comfortable beds and extra blankets. The kitchen was cute, and a fireplace warmed the whole house. Gerda kindly suggested shops and arranged fresh milk for us, which was a real treat. There was nothing to dislike.

The cottages had a country flower theme, and we enjoyed walking around the farm and swimming in the reservoir. Everything was good.
