The welcome was lovely, the facilities were excellent, and the location was amazing; Vendôme is a great town to visit. Nothing was lacking – everything was good.

The location is stunning, the spot is perfect, and the owner’s hospitality is outstanding; she gave us many useful tips on what to see in excellent English, was very kind, attentive, and thoughtful about every need we had.

The accommodation is very, very pleasant and well equipped on a property with a large park; the reception was very friendly with a welcome drink and detailed information about the city of Vendôme, which is charming and worth a visit. The host speaks German very well, and we received important information by SMS beforehand that was essential to find the entrance. The breakfast was good and can be enjoyed outside or inside.

We received a wonderful welcome from Véronique, had very interesting historical discussions, and were only 10 minutes from the interview site at Montoire d'Octobre 40. Véronique provided me with several documents that taught me a lot about the history of that sinister handshake. Through her I learned about the three Wolfsschlucht sites in France, including the one at Montoire, and I thought I knew the essentials—apparently not. The next day, armed with all those details, we visited various sites (station and tunnel). Everything else was perfect: cleanliness, layout, bed, and a very good breakfast. The parking was top‑class, the air conditioning worked, and we could wander through the huge park provided for us. What more could one ask for? The only downside was that Vendôme is 600 or 700 km from our home, so we won’t be able to return often.
