The barbecue room was a highlight, equipped with everything we needed to cook a mouth-watering Txuleta

The house was large, the veranda a chic spot, bright and spacious. It offered breathtaking views in the green Basque countryside, a rustic and comfortable place.
Fernando was very nice, responsive, and helpful, and there was enough space for our group; the nature was very nice. We stayed in a different house than the one shown in the booking pictures, so this comment only applies to that house, not the main one. The house is very old and not properly adapted or renovated for a stay; I think authenticity can be preserved through renovation. There was a lot of dust and cobwebs, flies in the kitchen, and a specific smell, especially in the room where I slept, even though we aired it a few hours before bed. If you have allergies, like me, this isn’t the place for you. We were on the Camino and found it inconvenient that the house had no hand soap, which didn’t suit us. The house is quite far from Markina and sits on a hill, making it difficult to reach if you’re sandy and without a car like us. Considering the price, I expected at least soap in the bathroom and no cobwebs or dust. I’m a regular user of rural casa-type accommodation, so my comment comes from someone who knows what rural accommodation is and staying in the countryside and in nature.
I had a fantastic experience with the family who welcomed us warmly and even offered to drive us from the city to their house, making our arrival feel truly special. The family's friendly nature set the tone for a wonderful stay.
The location had incredible views, the house had many rooms, and the garden offered a pleasant shaded area with a very large table that was useful for a group. It wasn’t clean and we missed some basics (the toilet handle above, a cutting board, etc.). I also didn’t like that the three interactions I had with the owner were always rushed because other guests were coming, so he hurried us off, although he did let us take wood for the barbecue, which we appreciated.
“Para repetir!”
Everything—location, site, txokos—was perfect. Nothing to complain about.
