We had a wonderful stay at Tekanda Lodge. Lodge Manager Upul and the entire staff were incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful. They helped us organise local transportation as well as reservations for restaurants and activities, which made everything very easy. The lodge itself is beautifully designed, extremely clean and set in a stunning location. The views are fantastic and our kids absolutely loved the pool. Breakfast was excellent, and there were also very good options for lunch. The owners provide lots of useful information and recommendations about restaurants, beaches and activities in the area. There are also plenty of great beach restaurants nearby. Nothing in particular — we really enjoyed our stay

“An unforgettable place that completely stole our hearts”

After three weeks of touring Sri Lanka, we thought we’d seen the country’s finest, then Tekanda Lodge appeared and made us wonder why we’d only booked one night, prompting us to check autumn and winter dates before we even unpacked. From the instant we arrived, Charlie and Richard greeted us with genuine warmth, offering hospitality that was personal yet never intrusive, with every interaction swift, thoughtful, and caring, making it clear each guest truly matters. Set on a quiet hill, the lodge is more than a boutique hotel—it’s a hidden sanctuary where privacy, calm, elegance, and impeccable taste coexist, and every detail feels deliberately chosen, from the open‑plan architecture and stylish lounge to the lush tropical gardens and stunning pool that blend seamlessly with the Sri Lankan scenery. The gardens, in particular, are breathtaking, letting nature dominate the view, while colourful birds and wildlife frequently appear, adding memorable moments whether you’re by the pool, having breakfast, or sipping coffee. Dining on the terrace with Charlie, Richard and other guests was a highlight, feeling less like a hotel dinner and more like an evening with friends, creating a warm, relaxed and truly unforgettable atmosphere. Thanks to Charlie and Richard for crafting such an extraordinary retreat—we’re already eyeing dates for a return.

“Amazing Family stay amidst nature !”

Good breakfast spread consisting of local Sri Lankan cuisine and other items . Top notch location . Quite away from main city and away from the hustle and bustle. Very good and attentive staff lead well by the lodge manager UPUL. Great owner Richard who was present during our visit. For what we were looking for , nothing in particular. Except maybe more food options to be available . But given the secluded location, we understand the possibility. So not really something we didnt like . The other thing would be to add more sign posts on the way to the lodge to help in arriving at the location without trouble
