“Spacious room with private Toucan viewing. Great breakfast.”

I was thrilled by the roomy room, the salt‑water pool, and the stylish décor; the Smeg toaster and kettle were especially impressive. The bedroom windows opened onto a large cage housing a pair of bright Toucans, a unique touch that set this room apart from the many peacocks and exotic birds roaming the resort. The house rule to switch off the cage lights at 6 pm lets the birds sleep undisturbed. Unfortunately, the upstairs toilet bowl leaked and was unusable, so I could only use the wash basin for brushing; I hope they repair it soon.

The house was spotlessly clean and set in a leafy, breezy spot with a light drizzle and pleasant air, though a few mosquitoes and insects were present; the warm décor let us watch kingfishers through the large bedroom window, and the kids were thrilled by the many bird species they could see.

The staff were adorable, smiling brightly, and the service was excellent; breakfast was superb in every way. No complaints.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel, it was truly exceptional. The room with a balcony was spacious and well-equipped, and the beautifully landscaped grounds offered stunning views of the river. However, I was deeply disturbed by the sight of monkeys and birds locked in tiny cages, which seemed to be held in terrible conditions.
