The reception staff was super, the location was good, the room was fine, and the establishment is inclusive. The room’s soundproofing is lacking.

The staff welcomed me warmly and the shower was fantastic, but the constant, irritating irregular zoom noise through the pillow was a bit annoying.

The room was spacious. The narrow staircase and terrible parking were a problem.

Baarle isn’t exactly a hotspot, but it’s a good stop if you need to be somewhere else, especially to see the many border crossings or take a nice walk or bike ride. We had coffee and pancakes for a pleasant afternoon, and we stayed overnight because we had to be in Zundert on Sunday. Saturday night was lively, with people still singing and laughing on the street at 2 a.m., but that didn’t bother us. The staff were friendly, the room was hygienic and large enough for one night, and it had everything we needed. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious with a good shower. I’d recommend it if you’re in the area. The downside was that it wasn’t a twin bed – it was two single mattresses side‑by‑side with a noticeable gap, which isn’t great if you like to cuddle. Breakfast wasn’t a buffet; we got two slices of bread, a slice of ham, a slice of cheese, a fried egg, a croissant, yogurt with brownie pieces, fruit juice, and coffee or tea. Unfortunately there was no option for hot chocolate, which I don’t like anyway. Everything else was fresh and tasty, but if you’re a big breakfast eater, it might be just a little too little.
