The hotel sits on a main road but still feels quiet. It’s a large, beautiful 19th‑century building. The room was nice with a good shower. There’s a veranda next to our room. The welcome was friendly. The breakfast was top. The photos on the site weren’t entirely in line with reality.

The hotel is full of charm and history. The building is old, which is exactly what makes it special. Some things show their age, but everything is clean, well‑maintained, and thoughtfully cared for. You can really see how much effort the staff puts into creating a warm, cozy, and welcoming atmosphere. Every little detail adds to the character of the place. The breakfast was also really good.

I arrived late and Dave, who was tending the small bar, checked me in. I ended up spending most of the evening chatting with him and enjoyed the conversation. He knows the area well and has a finger on the pulse (or lack thereof) of the neighborhood. I was given a free upgrade, and the suite was large and grand with a jacuzzi bathtub. I was impressed by the grandeur, yet it felt a bit dated. I had read reviews praising the breakfast, so I went in with high expectations… it did not disappoint! Coffee was terrific. Bacon was out of this world! Yogurt, fresh fruits, and a variety of cheeses were tasty and nourishing. It was fairly empty and had a somewhat lonesome feeling… maybe that was just me. Hard to describe, but it reminds me of an aging Hollywood starlet. Still attractive, but in obvious decline.

The room is clean, cozy, and beautifully designed/unique. The breakfast choices are great. The staff are friendly, helpful, and provide great service. I would highly recommend it and would return. There’s no refrigerator or microwave in the guest room; adding those would be a plus.
