General's Hideout Siargao

“Top hospitality and excelent value”

I’ve spent more than a month on Siargao, checking out many spots around the island, and General’s Hideout has become my top choice. The place sits on the edge of Malinao village, a lively, welcoming spot that feels very local. It’s right next to the beach and close to the great restaurant El Carabao, where I’ve eaten every day and consider it one of my best experiences on the island. The whole team at General’s Hideout made me feel completely at home, and the friendly dogs and cat that roam the property add a warm touch. I love saying this place. Highly recommended :)

The location is quiet, the beds are very comfortable, and the room is spacious. We were able to extend our stay by one night on a whim, and the accommodation offered affordable scooter rentals. Housekeeping came once during our stay and refreshed everything. For animal lovers, there are a few well‑cared‑for, affectionate dogs, puppies, and cats. The bathroom, however, did not match the pictures; the shower curtain is too short, so the whole floor gets wet. The front door is locked at night, and even though the owner says someone is always available to unlock it, we found that inconvenient and didn’t want to wake staff late at night just to open the door. A door code or a guest‑accessible lock might help. Also, some staff behavior towards the animals was a bit rough, and it’s disappointing to see them handled with a broom or physically.

I appreciate how quiet and peaceful General’s Hideout feels, and it’s also very welcoming for digital nomads with fast, reliable Wi‑Fi. We didn’t run into any problems during my stay—everything was excellent.

“Very cozy and welcoming stay!! Perfect for staying around General Luna”

We love the dogs!! They make you feel like home and they’re so friendly. The staff is always happy to help. The kitchen is very nice and easy to use. The bed is big and comfortable, and the room has all the amenities you need. The location is perfect—just a short walk from the main road, very quiet, close to main spots but not in the center. Maybe the shower head isn’t super strong, and its position was a bit too high.
