The suite’s architecture, full kitchen, laundry, and huge comfortable bed were the highlights, and the bathroom was gorgeous. We enjoyed the Creole Queen jazz and dinner ferry, the bicycle taxis, and all the restaurants we visited. However, there was no front desk or concierge to answer questions, so we didn’t know where to park or how to get around and had no brochures. In desperation we paid $90 each for a hop‑on hop‑off tour, while the red and green trolleys cost only $1.25 to $3. We wasted time and felt very confused. GPS barely worked in New Orleans, so we were lost and tired most of the time. Thankfully the bicycle taxis helped. The historic green St. CHARLES trolley ran right by the building and was extremely noisy even at night; I wish I’d known how to catch it or what sign to look for. The couch and settee at the foot of the bed were so stained that I was afraid to sit or even put luggage on them—was it sweat or body fluids? I had to lay an extra sheet over the couch to use it. I never got a chance to experience authentic historic jazz, which was very disappointing.
