I was disappointed because the host seemed more interested in chatting with his friends and workers than in greeting us, and although there was a boiler issue, the heating never kicked in at 23:00.

The reception was perfect, but I felt the property had been neglected; the patio was littered with dead leaves, giving a sense of abandonment. The bathrooms were very clean, yet the iron bed had a lot of dust and the carpet looked questionable, so I didn’t dare go barefoot in the room. The photo looked better than reality, and the value for money was not there. The overall impression was that the place felt outdated.

24 Rue du Château is a gem in Tarascon’s historic center, with all sights within walking distance and the Château du Roi René just one minute away. Gwen is extremely warm, welcoming us into a home that reflects his personality as an artist and musician, which shows in the décor. A bonus is a free public parking spot 200 m from the house. We wholeheartedly recommend this guesthouse and will definitely return to stay with Gwen again. If we could give 12/10, we would.
